{"id":9,"date":"2018-08-10T16:09:59","date_gmt":"2018-08-10T16:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/simplexera.com\/test\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2025-07-23T15:41:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T15:41:01","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/jamielevin.myqnapcloud.com:8000\/WordPress\/","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Jamie Levin is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mulroneyinstitute.ca\/people\/jamie-levin\">Tanenbaum Chair in Peace and Conflict<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mulroneyinstitute.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government<\/span><\/a> and an Associate Professor in the <span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stfx.ca\/academics\/arts\/political-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Political Science<\/a><\/span>\u00a0at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stfx.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Francis Xavier<\/a><\/span> University in Nova Scotia and a Research Fellow at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dal.ca\/sites\/cssd.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><em>the Centre for the Study of Security and Development<\/em><i style=\"color: #999999;\">. <\/i><\/span><\/a>Dr. Levin earned his PhD in <span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"http:\/\/politics.utoronto.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Political Science<\/a><\/span>\u00a0at the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.utoronto.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Toronto<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and an MsC from the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lse.ac.uk\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London School of Economics<\/a><\/span>. His work focuses on peacekeeping and the role of weapons in the resolution of civil wars. Dr. Levin&#8217;s research explores how weapons can be a stabilizing force in the resolution of conflict and how peacekeepers contribute to democratization. Previously, Dr. Levin was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the<span style=\"color: #999999;\">\u00a0<a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Henry M. Jackson<\/a><\/span> School of International Studies\u00a0at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">University of Washington<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"http:\/\/truman.huji.ac.il\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harry S.
